The European Union launched a military operation in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (fYROM/CONCORDIA)on 31 March 2003.
The operation made use of NATO assets and capabilities, which was made possible by the completion of work on EU-NATO arrangements.
The core aim of CONCORDIA was, at the explicit request of the fYROM government, to contribute further to a stable secure environment and to allow the implementation of the August 2001 Ohrid Framework Agreement .
