EU Delegation is seeking an experienced Chef/Cook for the Residence

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparing high-standard, creative menus for formal and informal events at the EU Residence, including working and social lunches, dinners, receptions, buffets etc.;
  • Creative working on new recipes, primarily focusing on a cuisine of European countries;
  • Setting up the table;
  • Managing all aspects of the kitchen, maintenance of kitchen equipment, cleaning of kitchen and dining space;
  • Maintaining proper food safety, kitchen hygiene and sanitation procedures;
  • Grocery shopping in preparation for events;
  • Performing other related duties.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a Chef/Cook position, in a high quality dining hotel, restaurant or diplomatic Residence;
  • Extensive knowledge of fine dining and related food preparation, presentation and service;
  • Ability to cook different types of food, primarily focusing on European cuisine;
  • Excellent time management abilities, strong organisational skills;
  • Fluent in Russian language. Knowledge of English will be an advantage;
  • Flexibility, creativity, innovative approach;
  • Familiarity with sanitation and food safety regulations;
  • Advanced knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques;
  • Proof of Covid vaccination;
  • Food safety training certificate;
  • Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage;
  • The candidate should respect the rules of confidentiality and professional conduct/ethics;
  • Good communication skills.
