Support for Ukraine

24th February marks the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. A delegation composed of FR, UK, AUS, JPN, KOR, NZ and the European Union (EU) met the Papua New Guinea Foreign Affairs Minister Hon Justin Tkatchenko to deliver a demarche on the Ukrainian resolution to be voted in the United Nations General Assembly.

This draft Ukraine/EU Resolution reiterates the need to end the war this year and to further intensify diplomatic efforts to achieve peace. It calls for de-escalation, an early cessation of hostilities, a peaceful resolution in line with international law and the UN Charter, notably territorial integrity and sovereignty of nations.
