Europe Day 2025 in Papua New Guinea

This year’s Europe Day celebration in Papua New Guinea was special not only because we celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Schuman declaration but also because the country is celebrating its 50th Independence anniversary, a major milestone.

We were honoured that the Prime Minister, Hon. James Marape, delivered a vibrant speech in support of the EU – PNG partnership, while acknowledging geopolitical changes.

The well-attended evening reception at the prestigious APEC Haus in Port Moresby, illuminated for the occasion, brought together Ministers, Member of Parliaments, Governors, government and development partners, economic actors, civil society and the diplomatic community.
