Ambassador's interview on PNG Business News
The EU Ambassador H.E. Jacques Fradin recently focused on trade and investment issues, a solid pillar of EU-PNG relationship in an interview with PNG Business News. He reaffirmed the European Union’s long-term commitment to Papua New Guinea ahead of its 50th independence anniversary, highlighting deepening political, trade, climate, and development ties. The EU is supporting major infrastructure under the “Global Gateway” strategy, expanding trade through the iEPA agreement, and assisting PNG in meeting sustainability and compliance standards. With EUR 1.074 billion in bilateral trade and growing investments, the EU also focuses on human capital, climate action, and responsible resource use, positioning PNG as a strategic partner in the Pacific. The EU is PNG’s 4th export destination.
