EVSDA 2025 – ‘ARCHITECTURE’ SHORTLIST – NOAH'S NEST (ARCHIRO ARCHITECTURE)

*

In the midst of a rapidly urbanizing Mekong Delta, Noah’s Nest appears as a gentle but sure answer to the climate - energy - health problem. The house is like a gift from the son, actress Lam Thanh Nha (Red Rain), to his father; therefore, all design decisions come from the elderly’s need for relaxation, then expand into a deeper philosophy: “The house is health” - the bird’s nest is a living body, nurturing the body - spirit and preserving memories of local agricultural history.

Noah’s Nest proves that architecture can convert climate data into form: air ducts, thermal chimneys, awnings - screens - trees; can reduce electricity capacity thanks to passive design, instead of increasing air conditioning; can take care of health through air, light and promote daily exercise; and can change living habits with rustic, intimate beauty.

Despite its modest scale, with its practical value, replicability and humanistic depth, Noah's Nest is not just a house - it is a declaration of a healthy home for the new cities of the Mekong Delta.
