EUROPE VILLAGE 2023

ADVENTURES OF THE SENSES

A highlight of the “Europe Days” program in Vietnam in 2023 is the return of the “Europe Village” event. This biennial initiative was organised for the first time in Vietnam in 2018 by the EU Delegation to Vietnam in collaboration with EUMSs. The three-day program, clustering around the weekend, offers a full and diverse calendar consisting of cultural performances by both European and Vietnamese artists, sports activities, dance shows, and activities for children, amongst others. In addition, audience members can embark on a journey through Europe by visiting distinguished Country Booths run by EUMS, tasting European food or experiencing European technologies and products showcased by European businesses based in Vietnam.

This year’s “Europe Village” with the theme Adventures of the Senses, organised under the EUPOP initiative, will take place from 6pm on Friday 12 May to 9pm on Sunday 14 May at Hanoi's Hoan Kiem Lake Walking Zones. Offering more than 20 cultural and musical performances taking place all across the the weekend, various sport activities introduced for the first time in Vietnam, spectacular and exclusive exhibitions such as the European Fashion Photography Exhibition, an exhibition of watercolour painting depicting European landscapes, "Europe Village 2023" is slated to enable participants to immerse in an European atmosphere in the heart of Hanoi.

EUROPEAN FILM FESTIVAL IN VIETNAM 2023

Returning this year between 19 May – 04 June, the European Film Festival in Vietnam (EUFF) 2023 will be taking place in the three cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Hue.

Featuring nearly 20 works of contemporary European cinema, including multiple award-winning entries, EUFF 2023 presents stories set across a range of spatial-temporal contexts. Taking as a starting point the idea of ‘journeys’, the festival introduces a varied host of characters – parents and children, sports figures, artists, writers, emigrants, friends, strangers – who go on journeys all over the continent to explore their identity, community and heritage, while also often having a memorable time in the process. Through their perspectives, Europe thus appears in all its kaleidoscopic beauty.

    Let EU Move You

"LET EU MOVE YOU" EXHIBITION

Supported by EUPOP, the exhibition “Let EU Move You” is a special digital art showcase that engages alumni from different education or exchange programs run by the EU and EUMSs. These alumni are members of the EU Alumni Network in Vietnam – an initiative that was launched by the EU Delegation to Vietnam in October 2022. The art exhibition showcases the experiences, values, and insights gained by the alumni during their education and life in European countries.

The exhibition will also highlight the novelties of the Creative Europe programme in making cultural and creative sectors more inclusive, digital, and environmentally sustainable. "Let EU Move You" will be presented from 12 to 14 May 2023 as part of "Europe Village 2023" in Hanoi's Hoan Kiem Lake Walking Zones.
