We summarize the work of the EU FOCUS FILM CAMP

EU Ambassador to Uzbekistan Charlotte Adriaen handed over certificates to graduates of the free educational module on cinematography for teenagers at the FOCUS School of Cinema and Theater

 

3 November 2023. Today the graduates of the EU FOCUS FILM CAMP received certificates at the FOCUS School of Cinema and Theater, where children's works were also demonstrated. The award ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan H.E. Ms Charlotte Adriaen, who visited the school to personally congratulate the finalists.

Earlier, the activities of the non-state school of cinema and theatre FOCUS were noted at the Opening of the European Film Festival, which this year was held for the first time as part of the Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road".

EU-FOCUS FILM CAMP is a specially designed free educational module for teenagers from 10 to 16 years old. The module includes classes on fiction and documentary movies, animation, directing, photography, painting, music, film history, drama, theatre, producing, cinematography, filmmaking, literature, work in team, sound engineering, journalism, editing, etc. Field trips around the city of Tashkent were also conducted in order to deepen knowledge of the history of the city. As well as field training expeditions in Tashkent and the Tashkent region.

The aim of the project is to improve the quality of education and improve skills in the field of cinema and theatre among the younger generation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The training was free of charge and took place every day in the summer, as well as every weekend throughout September and October. After that, 100% of participants decided to continue their studies. Half of the children will continue to study free of charge at the FOCUS Sunday Film School, as the project is included in the grant aggregator system of the FOCUS GRAVITY HUB International Creative Laboratory.

Funded by the European Union, the EU FOCUS FILM CAMP for teenagers is one of the projects of the FOCUS School of Cinema and Theatre, which includes master classes by European cinematographers and a large-scale documentary film laboratory European Union FOCUS CineLab.
