Monitoring Meeting on Project CirculEC - “Development of innovative curricula and modules in Circular Economy and Sustainable Development”
Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) hosts the Pilot monitoring meeting for the Circular Economy project, "Development of innovative curricula and modules in Circular Economy and Sustainable Development," funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education programme.
This event is part of the Monitoring Meeting Round-trip to Higher Educational Institutions in four Central Asian countries, which commenced on October 6th in Kazakhstan and is planned to conclude on November 13th in Turkmenistan. As part of this round trip, WIUT will bring together more than 50 professors and experts from various higher education institutions (HEIs) in Central Asia and Europe to review the progress on integrating Circular Economy principles into its educational programs.

Purpose
This event aims to present and assess the integration of Circular Economy principles into educational modules and courses at the bachelor’s, master’s, and lifelong learning (LLL) levels. As a part of the event, the participating institutions will discuss the role of WIUT in educating students about the Circular Economy and Sustainability. Through academic cooperation, the event aims to develop educational programs that equip future professionals with the skills necessary to tackle the region's pressing challenges in green transformation and sustainable growth.

About the project
The aim of the CirculEc project is to develop innovative, interdisciplinary modules in Circular Economy for existing curricula at the bachelor's and master's levels, as well as for lifelong learning. It brings together 11 Central Asian Universities from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan, as well as 3 Universities in Europe. It aims to educate more than 1,100 students by introducing 27 new modules and updating another 27 existing educational programs.
The Round Trips aims to monitor pilot implementation. Each Central Asian university will present its progress in a two-day event.
