Meeting with Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters winners

11 students from Uzbekistan won Erasmus Mundus scholarships to acquire master’s degrees in European Universities in 2023.

On 11th July 2023, the next traditional Pre-Departure Orientation Meeting was organized by the National Erasmus Office in Uzbekistan and the Delegation of the European Union in Uzbekistan for 11 new Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters scholarship winners from Uzbekistan. 

The Uzbek winners consist of 7 female and 4 male representatives from Uzbekistan.

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) scholarship holders will start their studies this August-September at the best universities in France, Belgium, Spain, Finland, Portugal and the United Kingdom.  Further studies will take place in Italy, Czech Republic, Turkey, Ireland, Sweden, Netherlands, Estonia, Denmark, Norway, Luxembourg.

All fields of studies chosen are very relevant to the needs of the country: Medicine, Early childhood and intercultural education, Security and strategic studies, Big data management, Sustainable bioeconomy, Theoretical chemistry and computational modelling, Smart energy systems, ICT, Security and cloud computing, Chemical innovation, Transnational German Studies.

The event provided good networking opportunities and discussion of practicalities with tips and experience from alumni, intercultural communication, additional opportunities within Erasmus+ during the EMJMs and after their completion, as well as further cooperation with National Erasmus+ Office on promotion of Erasmus Mundus.

Information on EMJM: It is the European Union Programme that aims to support, through lifelong learning, the educational, professional and personal development of people in education, training, youth and sport, in Europe and beyond. It provides opportunities for learning mobility, projects and partnerships, policy development and cooperation. The Programme is inclusive for people of all ages and backgrounds and open to different types of organisations.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master are unique master courses developed by a consortium of a minimum of two European universities which provide grants that fully cover the study programme, travel cost, insurance, visa support, scholarship of EUR 1 000 per month, etc. In addition to their main curriculum, students will be enrolled at language courses, learn about the countries of their stay, discover and enjoy new culture together with groupmates from around the world.
