Marking 2 years since Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine

On 28 February, the Delegation of the European Union to Thailand 🇪🇺, together with the Embassy of Belgium to Thailand 🇧🇪 and the Embassy of Ukraine to Thailand 🇺🇦, co-organised a film screening and panel discussion to commemorate two years since the full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine at Goethe-Institut Thailand.

Over 100 participants from the diplomatic community, international organisation and civil society, academics, think tanks, and members of the press attended screening of a documentary film “Culture vs War: Akhtem Seitablaiev,” followed by a panel discussion titled, “Ukrainian Resilience: A Commemoration of Two Years of Struggle and Strength.”

The panel featured H.E. Mr David Daly, Ambassador of the European Union to Thailand, H.E. Mr Pavlo Orel, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. of Ukraine to Thailand, Professor Dr. Thitinan Pongsudhirak, Senior Fellow at the Institute of Security and International Studies (ISIS Thailand), Professor Dr. Kantathi Suphamongkhon, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and Mr. Sunai Phasuk, Senior Researcher, Asia Division, Human Rights Watch. Ms. Karuna Buakamsri, a Thai Foreign News Reporter, moderated the discussion.

The panelists explored the way forward for Ukraine as the war enters its third year, and examined its implications for global and regional peace and security.

The EU has been by Ukraine's side since day one and it reaffirms its unwavering support to Ukraine with whatever it takes to win this war of aggression and regain peace.
