Description:

The Action will aim to lead and develop a form of decentralised international urban and regional cooperation for sustainable urban development and innovation in key partner countries, regions and territories of Asia and Australasia, in line with the external dimension of the Urban Agenda for the EU, the EU Green Deal, the Paris Climate Agreement, and the UN New Urban Agenda.

In particular:

  1. Consolidate cooperation between EU and non-EU participating cities in Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, India, China and Malaysia in order to improve and expand EU cities’ practices and leadership on sustainable urban development.
  2. Develop innovation cooperation between EU regions and regions or provinces in Australia, Japan, and the Republic of Korea.
  3. Consolidate an EU-led network of urban excellence, which references and connects innovative, successful and inspiring urban and regional development practices to accelerate the green and just transition.
  4. Support business opportunities for EU companies providing innovation and urban services and solutions.
