GET TO KNOW THE AMBASSADOR

 

I am a lawyer by training with fifteen years of experience in EU External Action, having served in various functions, including most recently as Head of Unit for Communications in the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations.

Previously, I was leading the Humanitarian Aid Operations in the Sahel and West Africa region. In the department for International Partnerships, I was in charge of supporting the EU Delegations to set up and implement programmes in the areas of justice, security, the rule of law and good governance. I was also responsible for inter-institutional relations within the EU and budget discharge for the external action spending.

Before joining the EU, I worked as a researcher of international law at the University of Helsinki and in the Legal Department of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.

I am grateful for this opportunity to represent the European Union and I am genuinely committed to building an even stronger partnership between the European Union and Botswana and vis-à-vis SADC together with my excellent and dedicated team at the Delegation.
