The EU supported Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction (CESDRR) regularly monitors and reports on the number of COVID-19 cases in Central Asia and related government measures in associated countries.
CESDRR is a permanent intergovernmental body - international organization established to ensure effective mechanisms to decrease the risk of emergencies, to mitigate the consequences, to organize a joint response through agreed measures of the Parties and to stimulate regional and international cooperation (see Center’s presentation).
Support for CESDRR is provided within the framework of two regional EU-funded projects “Strengthening Financial Resilience and Accelerating Risk Reduction in Central Asia Program” implemented by the World Bank and “Strengthening disaster resilience and accelerating implementation of Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction in Central Asia” implemented by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR).
The Central Asian Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction regularly updates its reports on "Actual information about the spread of COVID-19 in Central Asia" and "Operational Information on Emergency Situations in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan".
