Legal Advisors: How to ensure military actions on a legal basis

The course provides Legal Advisors with knowledge about future deployments, whether in a national or international function. 'International law has no boundaries'. The knowledge gained from this three-module training course is therefore universal and can be used for missions under various flags, whether they be of the European Union, NATO, the United Nations or the OSCE.
The third and final module was held in Reichenau/Rax in Lower Austria. The pleasant surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for the exercise, which was also the final test for participants wishing to receive the certificate. Throughout the week, the 'students' had to find legal solutions to military challenges. Of the 28 registered students, 22 were awarded with the LegAd certificate, which is signed by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. All 28 EU Member States and all the EU institutions have legally recognised the certificates of the European Security and Defence College.
