Piano in European Key

"Piano in European Key", a piano concert by renown Polish pianist Wojciech Waleczek organized by the EU Delegation, highlighted the diversity of European classical music with a repertoire that covered the 28 EU Member States.
The concert was part of celebrations held to commemorate Europe Day 2019 and the 30th anniversary of the EU Delegation in Uruguay.
The event was opened by Ambassador Karl-Otto König, who highlighted the importance of music within European culture.
Wojciech Waleczek opened his concert with the Uruguayan and European athems. He then played 25 pieces by composers from the 28 EU Member States. At the end of the concert, when he returned to perform an encore to the delight of the audience, he played Carlos Gardel's "El Día que Me Quieras".
The concert was well-attended by Uruguayan culture authorities, Ambassadors and other members of the diplomatic corps, and music critics, among others.
