To celebrate the day, the European Union organised a concert at Bozar with extraordinary artists coming from both continents.

The young Norwegian violinist Eldbjørg Hemsing introduced the audience on a musical journey, in which the works of the Oscar-winning Chinese composer Tan Dun met the works of the masters who inspired him, namely Bartók, Ysaÿe or Grieg.

In the second half of the concert, the audience followed Marco Polo, the famous Italian merchant, in his travel to the Orient, thanks to the musical dialogue created by the Greek composer and oud player Kyriakos Kalaitizidis and the international cast of virtuoso singers and players.  The musicians, from the Mediterranean, Mongolia and China, evoked Marco Polo epic journey, with original compositions and traditional melodies.

A programme that was resolutely founded on listening and exchanges, on synergies and promises for the future.
