Through an integrated multi-stakeholder approach, the project will promote sustainable growth, alleviate poverty, increase human well-being and prevent environmental pollution.

The specific objective of the project is to contribute to an effective implementation of the Ghanaian Hazardous and Electronic Waste Control and Management Act (Act 917) by fostering formalisation of informal Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), establishing a collection mechanism for e-waste, disseminating best practices through capacity building and training of trainers, providing decision support and creating awareness among the key target groups of the project.

Target Groups

Informal MSMEs in e-waste recycling, collection and dismantling business, formal sector associations, manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors of consumer electronics, technical institutions as well as government authorities.

Final beneficiaries

Informal workers, e-waste workers and their families, MSME employees, local communities, governmental bodies and public officials as well as households.
