Eastern Partnership: Workshop on Security and Defence takes place in Brussels
The Eastern Partnership (EaP) Workshop on Security and Defence took place on May 14 in Brussels, and provided the opportunity to exchange information and discuss the current developments in the Eastern Partnership, the initiatives in the field of EU peace, security and defence, as well as future initiatives.
The event gathered representatives from five EaP countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine), EU Member States, EU institutions, and Civil Society Forum.
The discussion followed up on past exchanges in the framework of the Eastern Partnership Panel on Security, CSDP and Civil Protection, the last of which took place on 10 November 2021.
During the event, the EEAS and European Commission officials briefed representatives of the Eastern Partnership countries on the current state of the regional policy, current developments in the areas of peace, security, and defence, and on the implementation of the Strategic Compass for Security and Defence, CSDP missions and initiatives on hybrid and cyber issues.
