Tripoli, Libya - The European Union Border Assistance Mission to Libya (EUBAM Libya) concluded a successful training program on border security management for mid-level commanding officers from the Libyan Ministry of Interior (MoI). Held in close collaboration with the GASO-Specialized Training Institute from February 4th to 8th, the program aimed to equip participants with advanced knowledge and skills to improve border control and management practices.

The intensive one-week program covered a diverse range of topics crucial for effective border security. EUBAM experts delivered insightful presentations on risk and crisis management, information exchange strategies, combating cross-border crime, utilizing border technology, optimizing human resources within law enforcement agencies, and upholding fundamental human rights principles.

This comprehensive approach aimed to provide participants with a well-rounded understanding of the complex challenges and opportunities associated with border security. Beyond knowledge dissemination, the program emphasized fostering cooperation and knowledge sharing among participants. By creating a collaborative learning environment, EUBAM facilitated the exchange of best practices and experiences in border security management.

This interactive approach allowed participants to learn from each other and the expertise of EUBAM officials, resulting in a richer learning experience. The targeted participants directly responsible for border management tasks greatly benefited from the program. They actively engaged in discussions and shared their experiences with EUBAM experts and fellow officers, gaining valuable insights into successful border control and management strategies. This knowledge exchange will contribute to their ability to lead their teams more effectively and implement improved practices at the borders.
