Project on basic Human rights for vulnerable women and men presented its results

On April 4, the presentation of the EU funded Project “Returning PATH: Promoting Access To basic Human rights for vulnerable women and men” was held in the Social Support Centre established within the Project. The opening speech was delivered by Mr Alessandro Liamine, Projects Manager of the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan.

On April 4, the presentation of the EU funded Project “Returning PATH: Promoting Access To basic Human rights for vulnerable women and men” was held in the Social Support Centre established within the Project. The opening speech was delivered by Mr Alessandro Liamine, Projects Manager of the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan.

The staff of the Social Support Centre shared information on its activities and the range of social services delivered to vulnerable groups of population with the aim of their integration and reintegration to a society. In addition, the presentation covered the Project's background, its results, prospects for its multiplication and sustainability after its completion.

The target group of the project – at least 1,200 vulnerable women and men such as ex-prisoners, drug users, persons living with HIV, TB-patients, who are provided with legal consultations, psychological and medical care free of charge (including referring to the related medical specialist). Moreover, they have the opportunity to participate in vocational education courses, gain knowledge and skills.

Also, the participants of the meeting had the opportunity to ask project implementation team questions they are interested in as well as look at the premises of the Centre during the short guided tour organised by the team.

The event was attended by representatives of EU Delegation to Uzbekistan, NGOs “INTILISH” and ACTED (France), DVV International (Germany) and other.
