During the visit of High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission, Mr. Josep Borrell Fontelles, the European Union launched a new call for proposals in support of civil society, human rights and democracy with a total budget of EUR 6,136,000 to finance projects in Argentina.

During his participation in the launch event the High Representative, Josep Borrell Fontelles emphasised that "The EU is committed to supporting human rights and civil society through concrete projects. Today we are launching new funding in the areas of green and digital transition with emphasis on social cohesion in Argentina. The EU and Argentina have strong historical ties between our societies. Together we can strengthen the cooperation between our companies, universities, governmental and non-governmental organizations.”

Through these new projects, the European Union is looking to extend its cooperation to the southern provinces of Argentina, and this is why part of the available funding will be dedicated specifically to projects implemented in Patagonia.

The deadline to receive proposals in the form of summary documents will remain open until December 28, 2022. To learn more about the call and to answer questions and queries about how to present a proposal, the Delegation of the European Union in Argentina will organize a live information session on its YouTube Channel next Tuesday, on the 1st of November
