The Entry/Exit System (EES) is the EU’s new, state-of-the-art border management system that will transform how external borders are managed.
Designed to modernize and digitalize border controls, the EES will replace the manual stamping of passports with automated electronic records, providing a faster and more efficient travel experience.
The system will be introduced on 12 October 2025, with full implementation across all external borders by 10 April 2026. Once fully operational, the EES will eliminate passport stamping and store entry and exit data electronically.
