Text

Today, Nigeria is once again the target of terrorist violence. An attack on a market in Yola, capital of north eastern Adamawa state has killed over 30 people and wounded many more. The EU expresses its condolences with those who lost loved ones and recalls its full solidarity with the Nigerian government and people.

This also comes only days after the attacks in Paris, but also in Lebanon, Turkey and Egypt. These repeated acts of violence show we must work together in partnership on the fight against terrorism.

The EU stands ready to step up its cooperation with Nigeria and the other countries in the region to fight terrorism in all its forms.
