The street fair was held under the banner of "Days of Europe in Rwanda" as part of a series of activities during the whole month of May to mark Europe Day as well as the 60th anniversary of the European Union.

The fair attracted thousands of Rwandans and members of the international community for a half day of fun, games, music and opportunity to learn more about the EU's work in Rwanda.

The afternoon featured EU and Member States stand presentations, a photo exhibition showcasing the EU's areas of support in Rwanda as fun activities for kids and families.

Later on, Rwandan artists Charly and Nina, Riderman, Yvan Buravan, Afrogroov and many others gave electrifying performances.

EU Ambassador highlighted these cultural events are a celebration of Europe in Rwanda, stressing the idea is to show that Europe and Rwanda are together. The European Union has been a partner in Rwanda for many years, as the organization’s partnership with Rwanda dates back to 1968.

Other activities lined up this May include a formal 9th May Reception on 9th May (Europe Day), Piano Jazz concert with French Pianist Lauren Assoulen on the 11th of May 2017 at the Rwanda Revenue Authority Auditorium as well as the AIC Food Festival that will take place on Sunday 14 May 2017 at the residence of the EU Ambassador.
