On 15-16 February 2017, the Delegation of the European Union to Thailand together with Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) organised a seminar on the topic of “ The Regulation of biocidal products and treated articles - continued EU market access for Thai Exporters”.  The purpose of this seminar, funded by the Thailand-European Union Policy Dialogues Support Facility was to assist Thai producers to maintain exports with correct compliance to recently improved EU regulations for the protection of citizens health and wellbeing.

Speakers at the seminar included Indiana de Seze and Craig Simpson, attorneys with expertise in litigation works and biocide products authorisation from Steptoe & Johnson LLP, who shared with the Thai exporters from various industries precise details on updated regulations of biocidal products such as insecticides, disinfectants, anti-mould paints, preservatives etc., that will come into force in March 2017, and walked the Thai exporters through the upcoming transitional procedures. The two speakers also gave the Thai exporters guidance on how to continue their EU market access by meeting the new regulations established for the protection of citizens health and wellbeing.
