The European Union supports higher education in Pakistan through ERASMUS+ programme which offers scholarships to students and staff to study in Europe and funds capacity building projects between Pakistani and European universities. ERASMUS+ programme is currently open for scholarship and inter-university project applications with deadlines in February 2017.

AVAILABLE OPPORTUNITIES

CAPACITY BUILDING: offers funding to build capacity and help modernise universities in Partner Countries, to ensure structural, long-lasting impact1. Joint Projects: New curricula, joint degrees, learning and teaching methodologies, staff development, quality assurance, governance, Bologna tools2. Structural Projects: Reforms at national/regional level (policy modernisation, Bologna policies, governance & management of higher education systems etc.)Deadline: 9 February 2017 at 12:00 Brussels time (for projects starting in October 2017)

INTERNATIONAL CREDIT MOBILITY: by concluding an inter-institutional agreement with a European university, Pakistani university can send its students at all levels or staff to the partner institutions in Europe (duration of scholarship is 3-12 months and staff mobility is up to 2 months). Under the same agreement, the universities in Pakistan can host European students, doctoral candidates or staff for short-term mobility.Deadline: 2 February 2017 at 12:00 Brussels time (for projects starting on 1 June 2017)

JEAN MONNET activities support academic teaching and research, cooperation projects, conferences and publications in the field of EU studies. Deadline: 23 February 2017 at 12:00 Brussels time (for projects starting on 1 September 2017)

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees offer scholarships to carry out a Master Degree in at least two of the participating institutions. Relevant linkhttps://eacea.ec.europa.eu/erasmus-plus/library/emjmd-catalogue_en 

Erasmus Mundus joint Doctoral Programme (until 2017) offers scholarships to carry out a Doctorate Degree in at least two of the participating institutions.

Erasmus Mundus Action 2 offers scholarships for students and staff to study/teach/research in one of the partner universities from the EU. Scholarships are offered at Bachelor, Master, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral level and for staff.
