A strong EU - Turks and Caicos Islands partnership is crucial to building a more democratic, secure and prosperous world.

Relations with the EU

The Turks and Caicos islands are “British Overseas Territories” whose development cooperation with the EU is based on Article 182 of the Treaty of Rome.

The value of total merchandise trade between the EU and Turks & Caicos Islands has been increasing over the years. Exports from the island include clothes, chemicals and agricultural products.

The European Development Fund (EDF) has been vital for realising Turks and Caicos Islands’ transport infrastructure projects. Through its European Consensus on Development, it is clear that the EU is encouraging all parts of society to play an active part in shaping the futures of their countries.
