Political Relations

The Cayman Islands are “British Overseas Territories” whose development cooperation with the EU is based on Article 182 of the Treaty of Rome. The value of trade between the EU and the Cayman Islands has been increasing over the years.

Due to their high GNP per capita, the Cayman Islands are not eligible for allocations under the European Development Fund (EDF). However, Cayman qualifies for non-programmed aid for a variety of projects.
