Message from the Ambassador

Dear readers,

Welcome to the website of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Guinea. This site is both a communication tool designed to meet the expectations of visitors seeking information on the European Union's action in Guinea and an open window on Europe and the EU institutions thanks to the many links it provides.

We use it to show how the projects and programmes we fund are helping to improve living conditions for the people of Guinea. In partnership with the authorities and civil society organisations, the European Union is active in the areas of health, environmental protection, energy and transport, the economy, and the defence of democracy and human rights.

In addition to this partnership, the EU is also a major political player. We maintain a political dialogue with the State with a view to consolidating democracy, the rule of law, good governance and human rights, all of which are essential to creating a favourable framework for private investment and sustainable economic development in Guinea.

In this respect, we are following the current transition with interest and hope that it will enable a return to constitutional order within the framework of an inclusive dialogue.

I hope you will find the information you are looking for in the pages of this website.

Please also feel free to interact with us on our other digital channels: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or via the Delegation's mailbox: delegation-guinea-conakry@eeas.europa.eu.

Jolita PONS, Ambassador, Head of the European Union Delegation to Guinea
