About the Ambassador

EU Ambassador to El Salvador and to the Central American Integration System (SICA), François Roudié 

Ambassador Roudié is a former journalist and has a degree in Political Science from the Institut d'études politiques de Bordeaux and master's degrees in Comparative European History and European Political Affairs. He has been an official of the European institutions since 1994 and of the European External Action Service (EEAS) since 2004. He is the EU ambassador to El Salvador and representative before SICA since September 9 2021.

I warmly welcome you to the EU Delegation to El Salvador and to the Central American Integration System (SICA). On this webpage, you will find information about this diplomatic mission’s activities in El Salvador and around the world. 

The European Union is one of the main political, trade and cooperation partners to El Salvador and Central America. The EU and its Member States are one of the main donors in the world, and in El Salvador our bilateral cooperation is one of the most important for the country. 

The Association Agreement signed between the EU and Central America reinforces our political, economic, trade and cooperation relations.
