Media advisory: HRVP Kallas travels to Paris to participate in the International Conference in support of peace and prosperity in the Great Lakes

On 30 October 2025, High Representative Kaja Kallas will be in Paris, France, to take part in the International Conference in support of peace and prosperity in the Great Lakes region.

Co-organised by France and Togo, as the African Union’s mediator for the Great Lakes, the conference will bring together international partners to step up support for the region and address the humanitarian emergency in the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Ahead of the Conference, the High Representative will meet with Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France.

On the margins of the Conference, HRVP Kallas will also hold different engagements with African partners, in preparation for the upcoming African Union-European Union Summit that will take place in Luanda, Angola, on 24-25 November.
