High Representative/Vice-President for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini concluded her official visit to Cuba, where she co-chaired the second EU-Cuba Joint Council on 9 September 2019 in Havana with Cuban Minister for Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez.

While in Cuba, High Representative Mogherini met with representatives of civil society, as well as Cuban entrepreneurs and European business leaders to discuss trade and economic cooperation, including measures to protect EU companies doing legitimate business in the country.

High Representative Mogherini also met with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and visited the Convent of Santa Clara, which is set to house a new Cultural Training Hub under the EU-funded Cuba–Caribbean Programme on Culture.
