The European Union welcomes the adoption of Resolution 2793(2025) by the United Nations Security Council.

We acknowledge the leadership of the United States and Panama in bringing this resolution forward, and commend Kenya for its commitment in leading the Multinational Security Support Mission.

This resolution paves the way for the establishment of a stronger international force with a more robust mandate to confront armed gangs, restore security, and protect the Haitian people.

The European Union is a leading development and humanitarian partner of Haiti, and is contributing €10 million in support to the Multinational Security Support Mission. These funds will be essential to ensure continuity during the transition from the current deployment to the new force.
