We offer:

Traineeships of up to 6 months within the following sections of the EU Delegation to Brazil, starting in March 2024:

  • Traineeship in the Political, Press and Information Section:

Under the supervision and mentoring of a Trainee supervisor, this traineeship will provide a solid and meaningful professional and learning experience in a multicultural and international work environment.

Main tasks:

  • Research on Brazilian political, social, human rights and economic topics; contribution to various reports, including political and meeting reports;
  • Assistance with preparations of briefings and organisation of meetings / events;
  • Assistance with producing, translating and compiling communication materials and social media content;
  • Assistance with the preparation and implementation of activities of Europe Month in May;
  • General assistance to the Political, Press and Information Section.

 

  • Traineeship in the Trade and other EU Policies Section:

Under the supervision and mentoring of a Trainee supervisor, this traineeship will provide a solid and meaningful professional and learning experience in a multicultural and international work environment, especially in the context of Brazil’s G20 Presidency.

Main tasks:

  • Research on Brazilian trade, economic and digital agenda topics and contribution to various reports on matters related to meetings organised in the context of Brazil’s G20 Presidency;
  • Assistance with preparations of briefings and organisation of meetings / events related to G20 Presidency of Brazil;
  • Assistance with the preparation of visits from EU HQ related to G20 Presidency of Brazil;
  • Assistance with creating, translating and compiling communication materials and social media content related to G20 Presidency of Brazil;
  • General assistance to the Trade and Other EU Policies Sections of EU Delegation.

 

We look for:

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Very good knowledge of the Portuguese and English language, orally and in writing;
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Knowledge of international relations / politics and already having worked in a diplomatic environment would be an asset;
  • Experience in the areas of communications, social media or press-related work would be an asset.

Please mention in the subject of your e-mail: Funded Traineeship - Political Section 2024 OR Trade and Other EU Policies Sections 2024 (you may only apply to 1 traineeship per delegation, however based on your profile, the delegation could offer you a traineeship in another section).

 

Important information to read before applying

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship).

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidates are not able to present the required documents, their application will be rejected.

The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.

Citizens from EU Member states:

  • must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;
  • must hold a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable,  based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.
