EU Delegations around the world show support to Ukraine
Cultural diplomacy featured prominently across many locations, offering powerful insights into the human dimension of the war. EU Delegations in Geneva and Seoul, together with Ukrainian partners, hosted exhibitions of “The Worst Anniversary Ever”, showcasing works by Ukrainian artists that chronicle life under war, capturing both suffering and resilience. Film screenings in South Sudan, Zambia, Hong Kong and Macao brought local audiences closer to the realities faced by Ukrainians. Documentaries such as “Porcelain War” and “2000 Meters to Andriivka” highlighted courage, creativity, and the daily struggle for freedom, sparking reflection and dialogue on the human cost of conflict and the importance of peace.
Public discussions and academic engagement also played a key role. In Turkmenistan, the EU Delegation convened the international community for a dialogue on humanitarian assistance and pathways to peace, underlining the global relevance of continued support to Ukraine. Some delegations, as the one in New Zealand marked the day by organising a run “Going the Distance for Ukraine”.
In a spirit of Team Europe, EU Delegations together with the EU Member States’ Embassies have published joint op-eds, social media campaigns, and public messages voicing EU’s position and solidarity. Ukrainian flags were raised around the world to reaffirm that the EU stands with Ukraine and its people.
