Europe @75: Celebrating Europe Day in Türkiye

This year, Europe Day in Türkiye will be celebrated with a wide range of concerts and cultural events taking place across the country throughout May.

Reflecting on this milestone, Ambassador Thomas Ossowski, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye, shares:

"Seventy-five years ago, Europe began as an idea—one born not from comfort, but from the courage to build something new. A democratic and social Europe of peace, partnership, and equal opportunities. Today, we carry that idea forward. The future is what we make of it. Happy Birthday, Europe!"

Exclusive Europe Day Receptions

For the first time, special receptions for invited guests will be held in three cities:

  • Ankara – The reception will take place on 8 May at CerModern, featuring a concert by jazz musician Dilek Sert Erdoğan and her band. Ambassador Ossowski will inaugurate a digital photography exhibition showcasing shared cultural heritage.
  • Istanbul – The reception will be held on 16 May at Feriye and will feature a performance by pop singer Sibel Tüzün and her band.
  • Gaziantep – The reception will take place on the evening of 23 May at the Zeugma Museum. The event will include a concert by jazz vocalists Sibel Köse and Kâmil Erdem, bringing together distinguished Turkish and European jazz musicians.
