EU Delegation to the Republic of Korea plants trees with the local citizens of Seoul

 

The EU Delegation in Seoul planted trees at the North Seoul Forest to appreciate the invaluable quality of forests to address the climate challenges, in line with the EU’s #ForOurPlanet campaign.

EU Ambassador to the RoK, H.E. Maria Castillo Fernandez, and the Delegation staff visited the North Seoul Forest on 22 April to take actions against the climate crisis and biodiversity loss, and to give back to nature on the International Earth Day.

The tree planting event took place together with the Seoul Metropolitan City and dozens of citizens of Seoul, who are participating in the Seoul My Tree campaign to increase number of trees and to expand urban greeneries in Seoul.

EU Delegation was welcomed by Mr. Su-Yeon Lee, Director General of Parks and Recreation Bureau of the Seoul Metropolitan City government. After the tree planting, Ambassador Maria Castillo Fernandez had a meeting with Director General Lee and discussed on continuing of cooperation with Seoul City on climate and environment issues.
