The Global Gateway investment agenda and its Team Europe approach has proven to be an effective model for making international cooperation projects and investments sustainable, ensuring lasting benefits for local communities. Global Gateway articulates the efforts of the private sector, the public sector and civil society, consolidating high-impact projects for a greener, more digital, healthier, and a more inclusive and equitable planet.

A good illustrative example of the effectiveness of Global Gateway is the "Universal Energy Access" programme that this video summarises, implemented with funds from the EU's LACIF programme, and executed by AECID in the Ngäbe-Buglé region of Panama. In the first phase of this initiative, 8,000 people have been provided with clean energy to develop their businesses and improve their quality of life.
