Mozambique seeking an independent power producer to develop a solar photovoltaic project

Within the scope of the Renewable Energy Auctions Promotion Program (PROLER), funded by the European Union (EU) and the French Development Agency (AFD), the Mozambican Ministry of Mineral Resources (MIREME) invites candidates to submit applications for the development of a 30MW/40 MWp photovoltaic solar project in Dondo District, Sofala Province.
The tender launched by the Mozambican government, on September 30, emerges from the Program for the Promotion of Renewable Energy Auctions (PROLER), which should contribute to increasing the energy production capacity and diversification of power sources via competitive and transparent bidding processes in the selection of private operators.
The engagement of independent energy producers for solar photovoltaic and wind projects, in the context of PROLER, should result in a total additional generation capacity of a minimum 120 MW of clean and renewable energy.
Sealed proposals are expected by 16 November 2020, at 10:00 am (Mozambique time, to the Energy Regulatory Authority (ARENE), under the terms described on the PROLER Tender Notice. Additional information can be found on PROLER website.
