Kopman in Podgorica – with Government Representatives on Montenegro’s European Agenda

 

The Director-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission, Gert Jan Koopman, paid an official visit to Montenegro.

During his visit, Koopman met with Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.
One of the topics of discussion was the Investment Conference “Smart Growth, Green Future: Accelerating Investment in Montenegro, which will take place on 14 and 15 October 2025 in Luštica.

The European Commission delegation, led by Koopman, and the Montenegro government delegation held meetings on enlargement policy and the Reform Agenda within the framework of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.

During his stay, Koopman also met with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Economic Development, Nik Đeljošaj; Minister of Justice, Bojan Božović; and Minister of the Interior, Danilo Šaranović.

At a working dinner, Koopman also held talks with the Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ervin Ibrahimović; Minister of European Affairs, Jovana Marović Gorčević; Minister of Finance, Novica Vuković; Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Vladimir Joković; and the Prime Minister’s Chief Adviser, Branko Krvavac.
