Oceans cover 70% of the planet and therefore represent the world’s largest ecosystem. They are essential to the Earth and are fundamental in the fight against climate change.

Oceans provide food, energy, water and revenues for billions of people around the world.

However, some harmful human activities are endangering the oceans and seas, affecting the livelihoods of billions of people. Oceans are facing numerous threats including climate change, ocean acidification, pollution, overfishing and maritime crimes.

How do the European Union and the Republic of Mauritius work together for a better and safer future for our oceans?
