Project Description

The project’s aim is to enhance the capacity of local civil society organizations, particularly in rural areas within the Akmola, Almaty, and Zhetusy oblasts, through their active engagement in policy dialogues on waste management and climate change.

The project will monitor the implementation of national programmes and local plans on waste management and climate change.

The project will promote gender equality and youth inclusion by fostering the engagement of women’s and youth groups in policy dialogues and monitoring of the relevant national programmes and local plans.

Main target groups

Local CSOs, initiative groups of eco-activists, women’s and youth organizations.

Expected results

• 70 environmental and health CSOs, eco-activist initiative groups, women's and youth organizations empowered to effectively engage in policy dialogue
• Local authorities supported in the implementation and monitoring of national programmes and plans related to waste management and climate change
• 20 pilot projects implemented
• 50 CSOs increased capacity to integrate gender equality and youth inclusion in their activities
