Good news for Indonesian and European travellers: EU and Indonesia have agreed the mutual recognition of their COVID vaccine certificates.

This means that, when entering the EU or travelling between EU Member States, holders of the Indonesian vaccine certificate can use it under the same conditions as people holding the EU Digital COVID Certificate (EUDCC).

People holding the EU Digital COVID Certificate can now use it to prove their vaccine status for entering Indonesia.

In other words, Indonesia and EU now treat each other’s certificates as equivalent. This is an important step in our joint goal to facilitate safe travel and people mobility.

To date, the EU has reached equivalence agreements with 67 countries and territories in five continents, which are now all connected to the EU Digital COVID Certificate system.

Indonesian travellers that have not been vaccinated with a vaccine authorised in the EU will still need to check which vaccines are accepted by the respective Member State prior to their travel.
