Ms Arnheiður Björnsdóttir is Icelandic and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from the University of Iceland where she specialised in visual anthropology. She also holds a Master's Degree in International Relations from Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) in Barcelona with a specialisation in Middle Eastern and North-African affairs (MENA).

During her Bachelor's studies, Ms Björnsdóttir specialised in visual anthropology and did an Erasmus+ exchange at Oxford Brookes University in the UK. Alongside her studies, she was a news reporter and a member of the editorial board of the Student Paper at the University of Iceland. Furthermore, Ms Björnsdóttir was a member of the international committee of the National Union of Icelandic Students (LÍS)
