Rehabilitation and re-equipment of Dessie Hospital
Given the extensive damage and the critical needs of its vast catchment population, Expertise France conducted a detailed analysis of the hospital's condition. Based on this assessment, a request was made to the European Union (EU) for co-financing to rehabilitate and renovate Dessie Hospital. In response, the EU rapidly mobilized resources through Individual Measure 1 to support the comprehensive rehabilitation of the facility.
The project prioritized actions based on the assessment's findings and the hospital's urgent needs, focusing on:
-
Procuring and installing essential medical equipment.
-
Rehabilitating the hospital's solid and liquid waste management systems.
-
Improving the water supply infrastructure to ensure reliable service delivery.
-
Renovating buildings and upgrading electrical systems to enhance functionality and safety.
Based on the assessment's findings and the hospital's priority needs, the project prioritised medical re-equipment, the rehabilitation of solid and liquid waste management systems, improvement of the water supply system, and renovation of building and electrical works.
