EU Week 2024: Eritrea celebrates Europe Day

The 2024 EU Week of Activities was a vibrant showcase of youth engagement and cultural exchange through a Volleyball tournament, Speakdate, Quizzes and Drawing activities. #EUDay2024

As the week drew to a close, the celebration of May 9th, Europe Day, took center stage at the EU Residence. The day was marked by a delightful cocktail reception, attended by 125 esteemed guests from local authorities and the diplomatic community. With its diverse array of events and active participation, the 2024 EU Week of Activities concluded on a high note, embodying the spirit of collaboration and camaraderie.

Speaking during the celebration, Ambassador Grippa stated, “We remain convinced that dialogue is the only way to continue to foster our relations. Our offer of dialogue with no-preconditions remains valid’’.

In his remarks, Ambassador Grippa also ‘’hopes that relations between neighbouring countries in the Horn of Africa region will be strengthened in a spirit of understanding, peace and friendship, for the well-being of all peoples’’.

On the sideline of the reception, the EUDEL featured short videos EU programs carried out during the past 15 years where visitors were able to catch a glimpse of some of the successful programs carried out in Eritrea.
