The EU-Cameroon Youth Sounding Board
Why? Youth empowerment is a top priority for EU Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, and the EU and its Member States (#TeamEurope) believe that young people must be involved in shaping and implementing its external action. The YSB aims to create a real, long-lasting change in how the EU Delegation in Cameroon engages with young people in its development cooperation.
Who? 25 motivated young Cameroonians between 15 to 35 years old.
What? The YSB is a space for young people to have an influence on the policies and programmes by the EU Delegation in Cameroon. The selected board members will thereby contribute to make EU action more participatory, relevant and effective for young people in the country.
Where? Virtually and, preferably, in person in Cameroon.
How much time?
The YSB members will commit for a period of two years. At least two meetings will take place every year, either virtually or ideally in person.
Note: This is an unpaid mandate but incurred costs will be covered.
Timeline
11 June 2023: Application Deadline
23 June 2023: Candidates Shortlisted
25 June 2023: Interviews of the shortlisted candidates
10 July 2023: Announcement of selected candidates
13 July 2023: : Launch of YSB
