Enhancing Emergency Preparedness and Response in ASEAN for Radiological and Nuclear Emergencies

Duration: 2017-2022

Summary:

The overall objective of the EU-funded project “Enhancing Emergency Preparedness and Response in ASEAN for Radiological and Nuclear Emergencies through Regional Cooperation” is to enhance capabilities within ASEAN, at both national and regional levels, on radiological and nuclear emergency preparedness and response (EP&R).

More specifically, the project aims at enhancing the quality and coherence of decision making within ASEAN following a radiological or nuclear emergency. This will be achieved through the installation and use of state-of-the-art tools and software – within emergency centres at national and ASEAN levels –  to support decision making.

This project, financed by the EU’s Instrument for Nuclear Safety Cooperation, is implemented by a consortium comprising ENCONET Consulting Ges.m.b.H. of Austria, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) of Germany and PDC-ARGOS and SCK-CEN of Belgium.
