Message from the Ambassador
Dear Visitor,
It is a pleasure for me to welcome you to our newly revamped website of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Uganda, which comes with a new and fresher look. The website offers you easier access to news, stories and information from all over the world, and of course also to the work and activities of the European Union Delegation in Uganda and in the Great Lakes Region.
I would like to invite you to browse through our webpage to explore the partnership between the European Union and Uganda. Our work is closely coordinated with our Member States, and we are tasked with speaking on behalf of the EU in Uganda, reflecting common EU positions.

GET TO KNOW THE AMBASSADOR
I am a career diplomat, having served in the Swedish and European Foreign Services for more than 25 years, out of which 14 in Africa, in Sudan, Ethiopia, Botswana and now Uganda. My first posts were in the Czech Republic, Russia and Belarus. After the Tsunami in 2004, I headed the Consular Section at the MFA in Stockholm. In Africa, I have also worked on regional integration, representing Sweden vis-à-vis the African Union and IGAD, and the European Union vis-à-vis SADC. Before my last posting as EU Ambassador to Botswana, I took a year of paternity leave in Sweden with my two youngest children. By training, I have a degree in medicine, and I also served as a UN Officer during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and as a member of the OSCE Mission to Sarajevo, in 1994-1995.
I am passionate about European and African affairs and it is, therefore, a great pleasure to represent the European Union in Uganda together with my excellent and dedicated team at the Delegation.
